Rescue is our favourite breed
Why buy when you can save an animal’s life – many of the pets that pass through our doors have been abused or neglected and dealt a rough hand in life. At AWSS we believe in second chances, especially when it comes to animals. By adopting a pet, you’re giving that animal another go at the life they so justly deserve and making space for another animal in need to be rescued.
How does the process work ?
We have implemented guidelines to ensure that the new owner and pet will live happily ever after:
Pre-adoption assessment of prospective new owners to determine the type of animal best suited to their lifestyle and residential circumstances and to ensure a good match between the animal and owner is achieved. All members of the household (including existing
pets) must be considered in the decision to adopt an animal and in the selection of that animal.
Home Check – one of our inspectors will visit your home to ensure that it is a safe and suitable environment for a pet.
Adoption Form – we like to know who is adopting our animals and request you to complete an adoption form. Please note, the pet population explosion is a very real and serious issue evident throughout South Africa, at AWSS we do not allow breeding of our animals and all prospective owners will be required to complete a sterilisation contract.
What are the fees involved ?
R900 – includes all vaccinations, de-worming, tick and flea treatment up to date of adoption as well as the sterilisation (not negotiable) and it includes a microchip.
R800 – includes all vaccinations (usual vaccinations as well as Feline Leukaemia vaccination) , de-worming, tick and flea treatment up to date of adoption as well as the sterilisation (not negotiable) and it includes a microchip.
